In this talk, James Hull, founder of Hullx Capital and co-host of China Tech Investor Podcast by TechNode, will cover the main types of competitive advantages a business can develop, how strategy plays a crucial role of developing these adventages, and how they ultimately affect the valuation of a business. He will be using examples of different companies (Chinese and overseas) in this talk and also share insights on the current trends of investment in China's tech market.

James has been in China for 12 years. He has managed his own portfolio since his teenage years. Most recently he worked with JIC Capital (an SOE under CIC) on a New Energy PE fund and overseas M&A. Previously, he has done management consulting, public company IR, financial and investment analysis, and FP&A. He's the Founder of Hullx Capital and co-host of China Tech Investor podcast with Elliot Zaagman through TechNode.
