An Innovation Journey to China
New York-based Lair East is coming to Beijing and is bringing Mentors and Startups on "An Innovation Journey to China". Lair East helps startups grow by focusing on tech and culture and leveraging investment and networking resources. On July 24th we bring together these Mentors and Startups with local Mentors and Startups and are offering an educative and inspiring evening of intercultural entrepreneurship exchange. For investors or companies looking for technology Startups this is also a goo opportunity to meet the current batch of Lair East which has various industry solutions.
MENTORS & SPEAKERS
John Lynn
John is a connector, innovator, and leader in the NYC tech community. Prior to founding theStudio Project, John developed expertise in accelerator programming via his experiences atTechStars and Startup Institute. John sits on the selection committee for Paris-based NUMAaccelerator network and Parallel 18 accelerator, council seats at Sheworx, Mark Zuckerberg'sFWD.us NYC chapter, and New York Cares. John also co-founded the Innovation Collective.
Shaun Johnson
Shaun Johnson is a technologist, early adopter, and helper of people. Shaun serves as anoperating adviser to XL Africa, a pan-African startup investment initiative led by The WorldBank, as well as a founding board member of NYC Innovation Collective, a nonprofit with themission of strengthening the innovation ecosystem through increased collaboration,transparency and access in the new economy. He is also a partner at Studio Project, acollaborative acceleration lab bringing top organizations together to build and further frontiertechnology alongside startups.
Galina Ozgur
Until recently, Galina was the General Manager at Grand Central Tech - New York's premierventure platform that provides a wide array of critical resources for transformational startupsto achieve scale. Broadly, her responsibilities have touched program, partnerships, duediligence, people & network. She has specifically been focused on the GCT flagship annualaccelerator program and was brought on the team 2.5 years ago to chart the course of thecurriculum.
Raymond Ngai
Raymond Ngai was former Head of IT Infrastructure responsible for managing anddeveloping the Club's IT infrastructure in the areas of hardware platform, network, storages, webinfrastructure, network security, systems software and desktop services to support the Club'smission to deliver world-class horseracing and betting services to the Hong Kong public.
Philip Delvecchio
Philip del Vecchio is the Program Director at VentureOut, a software engineer, and a Fulbright Scholar. Phil joined the VentureOut team in April 2017 and is responsible for all program activities, managing the agenda and securing speakers, supporting startups prior to and during the program and continuing that support for our alumni. Phil also helps manage VentureOut’s relationships with thought leaders, VCs and successful entrepreneurs that serve as VentureOut mentors.
Prior to VentureOut, Philip lived and worked abroad for 2 years focusing on education, international relations, and technology development. As a Fulbright scholar and a former Microsoft employee, his expertise uniquely combines international exchange and ICT management. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he studied Computer Science and Chinese.
Michael Zhu
Michael Zhu is the Founder and Managing Partner of Accathon Capital, a cross-border accelerator for corporate innovation, running stage agnostic programs and VC investments in frontier technologies across a wide range of industries targeting the U.S. and China markets.
Michael also co-founded the first innovation hub focusing on “Tech & Culture” and global entrepreneur communities, Lair East. Michael is serving as the Advisory Board member in multiple startups and an advisor at the NYC Chinese Entrepreneur Organization. In 2018, Michael sits in the Host Committee of Accelerator Awesome, the first-ever accelerator conference connecting top innovation organizations such as Techstars, 500 Startups, Dreamit, SAP, Verizon, NUMA New York, Google, and more.
